Graphic Design for the Fitness Business - Creating An Engaging Marketing Campaign
The fitness business is one of the most competitive industries to market to in 2014
To market effectively you need to create engaging marketing campaigns that inspire action, interaction and viral activity
UNDERSTANDING THE MOTIVATION
What gets your customers motivated to do an Exercise? Is it the fact they're overweight, unfit or they simply like to push themselves.
Often when marketing to potential customers you do so with their motivation in mind and work on multi-faceted campaigns to target different markets
The campaign below is a perfect example of how you inspire your existing customers to shout about your business and inspire others
SET A CHALLENGE - TAP INTO YOUR EXISTING CLIENTS MINDSET
The steps machine at the gym is one of hardest, but most most effective machines to burn calories on. Imagine if you introduced a marketing campaign that put some real life context on it so your customers could rise to the challenge of walking or running up so iconic buildings such as the Eiffel Tower or Empire State Building
Apps such as The Couch to 5k have revolutionised how people see the challenge of the treadmill - but the thought of actually walking up a building like the Beetham or Canary Whalf is quite a daunting prospect - by adding a simple challenge you give people something to aim for .... and something they will talk to others about!
MARKET, EDUCATE, GO VIRAL
Do your Gym goers know about their feat (excuse pun) they are about to do.
For instance if they had eaten a mars bar that contains 450 calories - a poster advertising how many steps or how long you'll have to spend on the treadmill to burn that 450 calories would be seen as a challenge to most gym goers.
Placing posters around the gym or fitness studio that are seen as a challenge as well as education to your clients
You climb 735 steps which is the Beetham tower (the tallest building in the north west of England) right the next challenge is the Eiffel tower 1035 steps, right next challenge, the Empire State Building 1235 steps and so on and so forth.
Why not do it as a competition at the gym and get your members to participate. People are looking for new challenges and gym goers are no exception, they would love a challenge like this.
